SJP appoints director of investment products from Aviva

St. James’s Place has announced the appointment of Kunal Oak as director of investment products.

Oak joins SJP from Aviva Wealth, where he was director of investments. He will take up his role in October.

He will be responsible for building and maintaining SJP’s investment proposition through the design, development and review of new and existing investment products.

Oak brings with him over 22 years of experience across investment management, insurance and consulting.

The former Aviva executive has held several roles including head of product strategy and solutions. He started his career as a strategy consultant at Deloitte.

“Kunal has a strong track record of delivering market-leading products and his experience will be instrumental ensuring our investment proposition continues to deliver strong client outcomes.”

St James’s Place is a leading UK wealth-management organisation with over £179bn funds under management.

The company provides face-to-face advice to clients based on their individual needs and circumstances.

Yesterday, SJP reported its financial results in the three months to 31 March.

It showed net flows fall by almost 65% in the first quarter of 2024. The company reported net inflows of £710m compared to £2bn in the same period last year.

However, this was only partially down from the £770m of net inflows recorded in the final quarter of 2023.
