Progeny has appointed Tim Gillman to the role of chief operating officer (COO).
The multi-disciplinary professional-services firm described Gillman as an “accomplished financial services executive” who has over 30 years of experience.
Gillman previously worked at Australian-based Link Group as COO for three years. Prior to that, he was COO at First Bank of Nigeria (FBN).
He also spent 13 years at Barclays, where he first started off at the bank on its graduate leadership programme.
He left the bank as managing director for business banking and consumer-lending operations.
Progeny CEO Neil Moles said: “We’re very happy to welcome Tim to the team.
“His significant experience in delivering transformational projects and driving operational excellence will be hugely valuable to Progeny, as we look to mature our unique vision for professional services and expand into new territories internationally.”
Gillman added: “I’m thrilled to join Neil and the team at such an exciting time in Progeny’s evolution and look forward to helping the group continue to build on its successful heritage and realise its potential.
“I’m passionate about developing people, promoting a culture of excellence and creating value for clients and shareholders, so culturally, Progeny seemed like the perfect fit.”
In January 2024, Progeny acquired chartered financial-advice firm Chartered Wealth Management, taking its total assets under management to £9bn.
Chartered Wealth Management has offices in Manchester and London, and offers tailored financial-planning and asset-management services to high-net-worth clients.
The business has 21 members of staff and nine chartered financial planners and wealth managers, with a collective 170 years of experience in providing financial help and advice.
In June 2023, Progeny announced it has achieved B Corp certification, meaning it is now verified as meeting high social and environmental impact standards.
Progeny states it is the first and only B Corp Certified firm in the UK to bring together chartered financial planning, asset management, tax, HR and private and corporate legal services.
