Quilter has strengthened its specialist technical team with the appointment of Kirsty Anderson as a retirement and tax specialist.
Prior to joining Quilter, Anderson was a pensions specialist at M&G Wealth for nine years. She has also worked for Royal London and Standard Life.
Reporting to Roddy Munro, head of technical sales at Quilter, Anderson’s role is a new one based in Scotland and working with advisers in the north of the UK.
She will be part of a seven-strong ‘on the road’ team supporting advisers with a focus on technical tax and pensions issues.
This team conducts workshops, events and seminars, as well as one-to-one sessions with advisers to help enhance understanding of the ever-changing tax and retirement landscape.
Welcoming her to the company, Munro said: “Kirsty has extensive experience in retirement planning and will be a valuable addition to the team.
“Her expertise will be instrumental in supporting our advisers as they navigate the complex and evolving tax and pensions landscape, which is going to be especially tricky with the biggest changes to pension tax rules since 2006 sitting alongside huge changes to tax allowances for individuals as a result of current fiscal policy.
“Our role is to help advisers navigate these issues so that their clients can confidently plan and achieve good outcomes.”
Commenting on her appointment, Anderson said: “I am thrilled to join Quilter’s well-respected technical team. With the abolition of the lifetime allowance and an uncertain policy roadmap, I’m looking forward to supporting advisers to help them keep on top of these changes and deliver exceptional support to clients.”
Quilter bolstered its investment specialist team under Andy Miller in January with three new hires, taking its face-to-face specialist team across tax, pensions and investments to 14.
